River Max - Double Braid Rope

Details

River Max is a double braid rope with a unique design that provides the ultimate in abrasion protection while still providing the highest strength possible, all in a High Modulus Polyethylene (HMPE) fiber construction.

  • Well suited for high-contact abrasion applications
  • Works well on winches, around bollards and through chocks
  • Great solution for lightweight handling on deck
  • Proven to maintain breaking strength after 3+ years in service

The load bearing core is made of 12-strand Ultrex and provides 100% of the strength in this design. It is then over-braided and protected again by HMPE fiber, the most abrasion resistant fiber available.

River Max is the ultimate rope for Face Line applications. Yale Cordage had the opportunity to test River Max vs. Competitor Ropes that were used on the same vessel for the same amount of time. When compared against the competition,  River Max outperformed both its own rated break strength and the competitor’s rope, maintaining its full catalog strength after being in service for 3+ years.

Specs

* Knots and abrupt bends significantly reduce the strength of all ropes and lower the maximum working load.
** Working load is based on static or moderately dynamic lifting/pulling operations. Instantaneous changes in load, up or down, in excess of 10% of the rope’s rated working load constitute hazardous shock load and would void the normal working-load recommendation. Consult Yale Cordage for guidelines for working loads and the safe use of rope.

 Green working 318 ft. lbs./lb.
 Red ultimate 8,300 ft. lbs./lb.

Specific Gravity: 0.97

Dielectric Strength: The maximum allowable leakage for clean, dry Mega Max is 75 micro-amperes when tested at 100kV per Yale Method 712-1701 Rev 1 “Routine Production Test.” Absorbed and entrained moisture or impurities will increase rope’s conductivity dramatically.
